PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure target quality in a short time and to minimize the quantity of industrial waste by washing soil after metals being removed by a magnetic separator with water in a kneader and separating adherent substances. SOLUTION: Agricultural soil polluted with pathogenic bacteria causing a root nodule disease by continuous cropping and a sulfur disease, chemical fertilizers, and agricultural chemicals is washed by using a kneader using river water. The water after treatment is cleaned by a water treatment apparatus and reused. City water can be used. The results of the culture test for 24 hr indicated zero of the pathogenic bacteria and about 3 ppm or below of the content of chemical fertilizers and agricultural chemicals. When city water was used, the incineration residue before treatment contains about 0.10 mg/kg of mercury, about 0.95 mg/kg, of cadmium, about 170 mg/kg of lead, about 0.68 mg/kg of arsenic, and about 52 mg/kg of chromium; however after treatment, these elements can not be detected. In this way, quality can be secured in a short time.
