<p>A circular saw including a frame, a drive means mounted to the frame coupled to a planar saw blade for rotation about a drive axis within a cutting plane and a base pivotably mounted to the frame about a first axis substantially parallel to the cutting plane and a second axis which is generally substantially parallel to the drive axis. In one aspect, the relative pivotal movement of the frame about the first axis is determined by a trim adjuster including a disengageable position locator which is operable to provide a plurality of predetermined discrete engaged positions and a locking means for locking the position of the frame relative to the base over a continuous range of settings. The invention also provides a mounting assembly including a course adjustment means and a fine adjustment means to determine the pivotal movement of the frame about the second axis relative to the base.</p> |
