<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to display a picture excellent in gradation linearity without uneven brightness by making multi-electron sources with lots of matrix-wired electron emission elements evenly emit electron beams. SOLUTION: When this driving device drives a display panel comprised of matrix-wired plural cold cathode elements, a scanning circuit 102 sequentially selects row wiring to apply a scanning voltage thereto, and a pulse width modulating circuit 106 drives each cold cathode element on the row wiring selected for scanning based on video data. The electron emission efficiency of each element on the row to be driven for correction is stored in a correction data memory 115, and a video data corresponding to the row to be corrected during one field display drive is stored in an image data memory 116. And, in a vertical fly-back interval, each element of the row to be corrected is driven for correction based on the data stored in the correction data memory 115 and the image data memory 116.</p> |
