Signal lamp for vehicles; has optical units with different transmission co-efficients, to produce constant illumination both vertically and horizontally

The lamp has a light source (10) and an optical disc (21) with light aligning optics (21), to direct light along a horizontal optical axis (x). A light distributor (30) is arranged between the light source and the optical disc and can direct a given light portion onto the inner surface of the optical disc in at least a desired direction. The height and width of the optical disc are of the same order of magnitude. The optical disc is composed of optical units that have different transmission co-efficients. The light distributor produces a predetermined light distribution both horizontally and vertically, where the different transmission co-efficients are taken into account so that a constant illumination at the exit side of the optical disc is generated, both horizontally and vertically. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing the signal lamp.
