PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controlled release formulation comprising only a biodegradable polymer material having no influence on an environment and having a controlled release rate in an agrochemical formulation prepared by formulating a volatile organic compound having an attracting, repelling or killing action on organisms with a base composed of the biodegradable polymer material. SOLUTION: In this controlled release formulation comprising a volatile organic compound having an attracting, repelling or killing effect on organisms and a base composed of a polylactic acid and an additive, the formulation is constituted of an inside part of the base having 1×10-6 to 1×10-3 [cm2/Hr] diffusion coefficient of the volatile organic compound and an outside part of the base which covers the inside part of the base and has fixed thickness and a diffusion coefficient of the volatile organic compound of <=1/5 and >=1/1,000 that of the inside part of the base. The controlled release formulation can make the release rate of the volatile organic compound constant for a long period of time. Since the biodegradable substance is used, the formulation is decomposed after the passage of use period and recovery is not required.
