The holder (100) is for a cutting tool (10) which has a shaft (30) with an outer diameter and a tool fixture flange of one-piece construction with the shaft. The outer diameter of the fixture flange is greater than that of the shaft. The tool holder is fitted to a rotary drum, which can be used in mining or building work. The cutting tool contains a work head (15) with a head section (20), which can be conical, and a point (25) of hard metal. The tool holder comprises a body (105) with a cylindrical bore (110), which from a front end (115) extends backwards to a rear end (120) along a longitudinal axis (L), in order to determine a boring wall (125) and to accommodate the cutting tool shaft (30).
