PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, inexpensively hold a secret of a content stencil engraved on a stencil paper while preventing a dry curing of an ink on a surface of a plate cylinder. SOLUTION: An engraved stencil paper S is attached to a plate cylinder 45, and printed. The paper S is cut shortly in a length when a secret is set. The secret set paper S is not covered at a rear end part S-b with a reaction piece 93 provided on the cylinder 45 to confirm the secret set at the cylinder 45. A stencile paper confirming sensor 95 senses no reflected light by the piece 93, and a controller judges a secret set state. When the secret is set, a printing operation is inhibited to hold the secret. Meanwhile, the paper S not set with the secret is cut at the end S-b in a length when engraved to cover the piece 93 provided on the cylinder 45. Thus, the stencile paper confirming sensor 95 detects a reflected light by the paper S, and the controller judges no secret set.
