The cable lift has a drive unit supported w.r.t a bearer structure (12-15) and with a gearbox (2) with a gearbox housing and crossing axles of an input shaft and a horizontal drive shaft connected to a drive plate and a motor (1) that turns the input shaft coupled to the gearbox housing via a motor housing. The gearbox housing does not protrude beyond the vertical projection of the motor housing in the horizontal plane, at least on the input shaft side.
