PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To plate the inside of a plurality of juxtaposed grooves uniformly with strong adhesion. SOLUTION: Piezoelectric members 17, 18 polarized in the plate thickness direction or a substrate 19 integrating the piezoelectric members 17, 18 with a base member 16 is provided and a plurality of grooves 20 of specified depth and width opening above the surface side of the substrate 19 and closed at the opposite ends in the longitudinal direction are made in parallel in the widthwise direction. Recesses 23 communicating with the grooves 20 in the orthogonal direction are made in the center of these grooves 20, an electrode 24 is formed by electroless plating at least at a part of a post 22 separating the adjacent grooves 20 and then the substrate 19 is cut in the direction orthogonal to the grooves 20 tus forming a head substrate. Subsequently, it is fixed with a top plate covering the upper part of a channel defined by the groove 20 and a nozzle plate covering the front part of the groove 20 to form a plurality of ink chambers surrounded by the grooves 17, 18, the top plate and the nozzle plate thus forming a plurality ink jet printer head from the substrate 19.
