PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller to reduce data transfer quantity and to enable high speed display. SOLUTION: In a copier main body 100, image data to be displayed on an LCD 300 is plotted in a VRAM 103 by a main CPU 101, the image data plotted in the VRAM 103 is transferred to an LCDC 201 as separate windows by a DMAC 102. On the other hand, in an operation display part 200, the image data transferred from the DMAC 102 is written by using one of two frame memories provided in a frame memory 202 using it for writing and, in addition, image data stored in the other frame memory of the frame memory 202 is read, transferred to the LCD 300, displayed there by using the other frame memory for display and the roles of two memories are switched by the LCDC 201.
