PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyolefin resin foam sheet which does not deteriorate the compression strength nor the flexural strength at thermoforming, is applicable to deep draw and exerts an excellent recyclability. SOLUTION: A foam sheet a is prepared by dispersing from 2 to 20 wt.% fibrous liquid crystal polymer in a polyolefin resin. Here, the cells present in this foam have an average ratio Dz/Dxy of the diameter Dz in the direction of sheet thickness to the diameter Dxy in the in-plane direction of 1.2 or larger. The polyolefin resin is preferably a modified polyolefin resin obtained by melt mixing a polyolefin resin with at least one monomer for modification chosen from the group consisting of dioxime compounds, bismaleimides, divinylbenzenes, allyl multifunctional monomers, (meth)acrylic multifunctional monomers and quinone compounds.
