PURPOSE: A reproducing method for an optical disk is provided to conveniently reproduce the optical disk through eliminating a key select process and through deciding default values for each menu images. CONSTITUTION: In case of inputting a mode select signal from a key input unit, a normal mode select signal is decided. In case of the normal operation a DVD is reproduced. By displaying a menu image, a key input for the displayed menu image is checked. In a simple reproducing mode for eliminating a key select process, default value for each menu image is decided by a microprocessor unit. Then, the microprocessor unit controls reproducing operation. By the displayed image on a display unit about the menu image, the microprocessor unit automatically inputs the default value to perform operations. Therefore, the DVD is reproduced until a reproducing stopping command is inputted thereto.
