PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase exchangeability of a filter member by making the filter member detachable to a casing body by attaching by screwing a pedestal member of the filter member to the casing body on which a connecting fitting is formed and engagingly fixing the casing surrounding the filter member to the circumferential wall of the casing body. SOLUTION: A gas filter 1 for a medical instrument is composed of a casing body 10, an exchangeable filter member 20, and a casing 35. The casing body 10 has a connecting fitting 12 in which an outlet opening 13 with a step is formed protruding in the center of the flat part. The filter member 20 has a pedestal member 21, a supporting sleeve 27, a filter element 30, and a cover member 31, and is integratingly assembled by fitting an annular groove 33 of the cover member 31 to an opening end 27b of the supporting sleeve 27. The casing 35 is provided with a connecting fitting with an inlet opening formed at the top of the body 36, and a female screw 39 for screwing on a male screw 18 of the casing body 10 is formed at an opening end of the body 36.
