ROTARY TOOL HOLDER AND MACHINE TOOL USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary tool holder capable of displacing a rotary tool in a direction orthogonal to an axis of the rotary tool. SOLUTION: This tool holder is provided with a holder body 11 mounted on a cutter holding part (e.g. a tool rest of a turret lathe, of the machine tool, a spindle 23 on which a rotary tool such as a drill or the like is coaxially mounted and a housing 12 which supports the spindle 23 so as to be rotatable on its axis and is combined in such a manner that it can be displaced with respect to the holder body 11 in a prescribed direction which is orthogonal to the axis of the spindle 23. A driving shaft 16 is mounted on the holder body 11 for transmitting revolution from the machine tool to the spindle 23. The revolution can be transmitted from the driving shaft 16 to the spindle 23 through a pair of bevel gears 17, 25. Each of the bevel gears 17, 25 is treated with crowning to allow the displacement of the housing 12 with respect to the holder body 11 in the prescribed direction.
