PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sum up what kind of URL pages are referred to by users as reference sources and to present a list of the reference sources to the users in a hypertext system such as WWW. SOLUTION: A reference information extracting means 4 extracts the URL of a reference source from a request header which is issued by a client computer 3 and data type of a data file from a response header issued by a server computer 1. These pieces of reference information are stored on a reference information storing means 5. When the number of the reference information becomes larger than a specific number, the respective URLs of reference sources are summed up by data type by a counting means 7 and the summed result is presented to the users as the information source list.
