PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a more convenient instrument which can inspect soundness of an optical fiber before a high output laser is introduced into an optical fiber and can inspect the state of an optical fiber, even during laser machining. SOLUTION: A soundness inspection equipment applicable to a laser machining system, comprising a laser oscillator 1 for machining, an optical fiber 3 and a laser machining head 4, includes a laser oscillator 2 for inspection generating an inspection laser light having wavelength different from that of machining laser light. The inspection laser light introduced to the optical fiber 3 and returning from the laser machining head 4 is detected in the vicinity of the emission end of machining laser light, thus detecting abnormality of the optical fiber 3 and the laser machining head 4.
