PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the heat-developable photographic sensitive material having a superior heat decolorizable dye layer capable of giving an ultrahigh contrast image adapted to a printing plate in a hydrophilic colloidal layer by forming a photosensitive image forming layer containing an organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halde and a reducing agent and a nonphotosensitive layer containing a specified cyanine dye or its salt and a base or a base precursor. SOLUTION: The cyanine dye is represented by the formula in which R1 is an H atom or an aliphatic or aromatic or -NR21R24 group or the like; each of R21 and R24 is, independently, an H atom or an aliphatic or aromatic group or each of R21 and R24 may combine with each other to form an N-containing ring; R2 is an H atom or an aliphatic or aromatic group; R3 is an aliphatic group; L1 is a chain of methine groups comprising an odd number of them; and each of Z1 and Z2 is, independently, an atomic group necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered N-containing hetero ring.
