PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify optical-axis alignment and shorten manufacturing time by aligning optical axis of a photodiode fixed on a carrier with optical axis of an optical fiber held by a ferrule by referencing positioning markers formed on the carrier to fix the position of the ferrule. SOLUTION: A carrier 10 is fixed on the basement of a case. Then, a ferrule 13 is inserted into an FC connector 20 and fixed to complete a photodiode module 30. As such, the optical axis alignment in an optical system comprising an optical fiber 15 and a photodiode 14 is simplified, and therefore the photodiode module 30 can be manufactured easily and within a short duration of time, by detecting the position of the optical fiber 15 and markers 10a of the carrier side, on which the photodiode 14 is fixed, by mark recognition, and aligning the optical axis of the optical fiber 15 and the optical axis of the photodiode 14 by referencing the markers 10a on the carrier side.
