PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily search and select a piece of music, even if its title or the like is not known. SOLUTION: Information, such as melodies, words, and titles extracted from data of musical pieces, are stored in a sound-pitch table and in a music information table, and peripheral information relating to those musical pieces (for example, information concerning commercial messages, dramas, and the like, in which those pieces are used) is stored in a peripheral information table. When a user vocally inputs anything known about a piece of music from a microphone, the tables are searched by using the description as input data for music selection, and a piece of music which corresponds to it is retrieved. |
