PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cage rotor core capable of reducing residual stress of tensile force generated between a conductor and a short-circuit ring, bending stress, and thermal stress, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: This cage rotor core 21 consists of a rotor core 22 formed by layering thin punched iron plates with a plurality of grooves drilled in the circumferential direction near its outer periphery, and a cage rotor core 21 formed by casting molten metal into the grooves of the rotor core 22 for forming a conductor 23 and a short-circuit ring 24 communicating with the conductor 23 on the end surface of the rotor core 22, wherein a space 8a having a thickness equivalent to that of the thin punched plate 2a is formed between the end surface of the rotor core 22 and the short-circuit ring 24, and an extended conductor 7a which is extended from the conductor 23 and communicates with the short-circuit ring 24 is involved in the space 8a.
