The heater for a motor vehicle has an air pulsator (10) with an outlet duct (14) opening laterally into an air distributor box (18) receiving a heat exchanger (26,28). The distributor box and the outlet duct are connected by complementary edge flanges (20,22). The air pulsator has a cross passage (44) for a conduit (30,32) between the air distribution duct and a heat exchanger.
