<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently eliminate uncomfortable smells inclusive of many kinds of odorous components with low equipment at a low cost and to improve the comfortableness in the living environment by depositing palladium and chlorine at a specific value or above in molar ratio on a porous carrier and specifying the deposition rate of the palladium to the porous carrier to a prescribed ratio. SOLUTION: This deodorant is formed by depositing the palladium and the chlorine on the porous carrier in such a manner that the molar ratio expressed by the chlorine/palladium attains >=2.5, provided that the deposition rate of the palladium to the porous carrier is a ratio of 0.1 to 10 wt.%. The field, where the palladium and chlorine deposited after the absorption of the odorous components to the porous substance coexist, is acted as a catalyst and at this time, the molar ratio is specified to >=2.5, by which the effect hereof is greatly exhibited. If the deposition rate of the palladium to the porous carrier is below 0.1 wt.%, the effect by the palladium is limited and sufficient deodorization effect is hardly obtainable. If the rate is above 10 wt.%, the adsorption performance of the porous carrier is impaired and the degradation in the deodorization performance is resulted.</p> |
