CABLE FIXING DEVICE FOR WAVELENGTH SPLITTER

PURPOSE: A cable fixing apparatus of optical wavelength divider is provided to improve step coverage in installing a chip assembly to a lower case by deforming the bottom of the lower case. CONSTITUTION: An optical divider has a chip assembly(10), a lower case(20) for mounting the chip assembly(10) and an upper case(30) fixed over the lower case by screws to protect the chip assembly(10). The chip assembly(30) includes a chip(12), chip blocks(20) at both ends of the chip(12) and an optical cable(16) outwardly projected from the lower case(20). The lower case(20) has a number of bosses(26) with screw holes(26a) for fastening the upper case(30) and the screws(40). A projected step(28) is formed in the bottom of the lower case(20). Cable settling grooves(22) are formed at both ends of the lower case(20). Protrudes(24) are formed at the faces of the cable settling grooves(22) contacting with an optical fiber(16). The upper case(30) also has cable settling grooves(32). Protrudes(34) are extended downward from faces of the cable settling grooves(32) contacting with the optical fiber(16).
