PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means and a method in which the constitution of a covering powder is featured quickly and in a simple manner, so that information about whether the constitution of the covering powder is changed or not with reference to at least a previous powder batch can be given to the operator of a powder covering device. SOLUTION: This is an apparatus which is used to measure the constitution of fluid solid particles such as, e.g. a pigment powder. In this case, a feed device 13 feeds the solid particles under a prescribed feed condition. In addition, a measuring resonance device 16 measures a change in the resonance frequency and/or the high-frequency amplitude of a high-frequency resonator 36, which is caused by the solid particles which are fed. The detected change in the resonance frequency and/or the high-frequency amplitude of the high-frequency resonator 36 is measured with reference to respective values generated at a time when, e.g. the measuring resonance device 16 is empty.
