METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRAFFIC INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information management device which efficiently measures a trip time of a vehicle between an upper point and a lower point with a high precision. SOLUTION: The traffic information management device is provided with ultrasonic vehicle sensors which are provided at the upper point and the lower point on a road respectively. The ultrasonic vehicle sensor detects the vehicle height of the vehicle passing the point as a feature quantity by an ultrasonic wave. The relation between the detected vehicle height and the time when it was detected is stored. Vehicle 1 to 10 having conspicuous feature quantities are taken as noticed vehicles, and data of this group of noticed vehicles is compared with data at the lower point, and the time required for running of this vehicle group from the upper point to the lower point is measured by this matching.
