PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flooring material for direct application which can be manufactured also from timber from thinning, a needle-leaf tree or the like and which is free of the extension in the direction of a floor surface due to absorption of moisture and, moreover, causes no difference in level of the floor surface even when it is laid directly on a concrete substrate, and a structure of flooring constituted of this flooring material. SOLUTION: A log 2 is cut continuously along the direction of the circumferential surface thereof and hot-pressed as occasion demands, so that cut veneer 3 shaped like long lengths of thin flat plate be obtained. This veneer is processed to be in an appropriate shape of appropriate dimensions and each of the cut veneers 3 in a plurality thus obtained is coated with an adhesive 4, laminated and hot-pressed as occasion demands, so that a veneer laminate be formed. This veneer laminate is cut in a thickness of 4-12 mm in the direction X of lamination so that a header laminate plate 6 on the surface and rear of which headers appear in continuity be formed, and grooves extending in the direction of lamination are formed in the rear of the header laminate plate 6, while a moisture-intercepting cushion sheet 7 is attached to the rear. Thereby a flooring material 1 is formed.
