PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cylindrical vibration proof device capable of preventing a swelling part formed by an extra wall in a caulked part of outer cylinder fitting from interferring with a mounting hole and ensuring sufficient strength of the caulked part when the outer cylinder fitting is pressed in and fitted in the mounting hole. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a cylindrical vibration proof device comprises a taper drawing process in which an outer cylinder fitting 5 is coaxially arranged on the outside of a rubber elastic body 4 formed integrally with a main shaft fitting 1, drawing is applied in at least both end parts of the outer cylinder fitting 5, and a taper part 51 inclined in such a way that its diameter becomes gradually smaller when approaching a tip is formed in both end parts and a roller caulking process in which a tip part of each taper part 51 of the outer cylinder fitting 5 is caulked by a caulking roller to form a caulked part 52.
