PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb rattling or other vibrations of a steering shaft satisfactorily and suppress the friction torque sufficiently low when the steering shaft is in rotation. SOLUTION: A bearing device for a steering column is equipped with an outer bushing 10 made of a resilient material to be fitted by pressure in a housing of steering column and an inner bushing 11 inserted into the outer bushing 10 and bearing a steering shaft slidably, and a grease storing groove 18 is formed at the sliding inner surface of the inner bushing 11 bearing the steering shaft slidably.
