PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surface treatment of glass substrate, modifying the surface of glass substrate so as to prevent the corrosion of glass substrate and to improve impact strength as final purposes. SOLUTION: A glass substrate after an abrasion process is treated with functional water having a plus oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) for a fixed time in the final cleaning process. The glass substrate after the abrasion treatment is cleaned with functional water having -50 to -300 mV ORP and then with functional water having +30O to +1,200 mV ORP in the final cleaning process. ORP and the treatment time are differed depending upon abrasion conditions. The hardness of the surface of glass substrate is increased, corrosion- resistant performances and orientation of stuck film are improved by the treatment.
