PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device provided with an energy absorbing mechanism capable of appropriately controlling the load though the load is variable. SOLUTION: This seat belt device is provided with a retractor provided with a winding shaft 4 to wind a webbing W and a pre-tensioner 3 which is fitted to the retractor, directly senses the impact when a vehicle is collided, or senses the electric signal from a sensor, and is operated to pull in the webbing W, and the pre-tensioner 3 is provided with an energy absorbing mechanism 6 to permit the pull-out of the webbing W at the specified load when the webbing W is pulled in the pull-out direction by the forward movement of an occupant after the pre-tensioner 3 is operated. The energy absorbing mechanism 6 is provided with movable members 45, 50 which are moved by the rotation of the winding shaft 4 in the web pull-out direction, and a casing 54 to store the movable members so as to reduce the volume to be formed between the movable members and the casing as the movable members are moved. |
