PURPOSE: A digital song accompaniment system is provided to match the image on a screen with the mood of the song. CONSTITUTION: A digital song accompaniment system includes a plurality of disks, a memory(130), a disk changer player(110), a controller(120), an overlay(150), a microphone, a mixer(170), and a tempt detector(140). The disks store index which enables the disk to discriminate the genre of the background screen recorded on the disk at TOC(table of contents). Each of the disks only contains a background screen matching only one music genre. The memory(130) stores caption information and accompaniment information. The tempo detector(140) detects the tempo of the accompaniment information. The disk changer player(110) reads the TOC of each disks and displays a background screen of selected disk. The controller(120) detects The first index of each TOC and controls so as for the music information corresponding to the music selected on the screen in a way that the same disk which contains the music information of the first index is played. The overlay(150) overlays the caption information on the background screen. The mixer mixes the input of the voice of a user with the accompaniment information.
