METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VARIABLE COOLING BY SPRAY FOR CONTROLLING MOLD LEVEL

PURPOSE: A method is provided to control periodic hunting caused by dynamic bulging with cooling ability increase of a cooling system. CONSTITUTION: A hunting frequency calculator(12) calculates a frequency generated by a roll interval(10) and continual casting velocity(11) according to the continual casting velocity. A mold level sensor(5) senses a mold level signal of the frequency. The mold level signal is analyzed by a frequency analyzing apparatus(15). A frequency comparator compares the frequency with a hunting pattern and decides if the frequency is within a regular range. After deciding, the result is fed to a spray control gain(14) and the spray gain changes amount of spray and feeds the amount to a cooling system(7). Then, the cooling system controls the spray in order to cool the spray. A mold level automatic controller(16) delivers the position value or a stopper rod(4) to a stopper rod controller(2) to change the position of the stopper rod and to control a mold level.
