PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication unit by which a communication execution range can be extended and the convenience can be enhanced. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1 is provided with a wire communication section 17 that executes wired communication with an ISD communication network via an ISDN communication channel in addition to a radio communication section 14 that executes radio communication with a cellular communication network via a cellular communication channel. The portable telephone set 1 as above can executes wired communication in an area connectable to the ISD communication network even in the case of an area (outside of zone) where radio communication cannot be available. Since the range of execution of communication can be extended by using the radio communication (cellular communication) and the wired communication (ISDN communication) in common, the convenience can be enhanced.
