PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an immersion area to a minimum, even if water penetrates into a lead sheath from an external damage part due to anchor or the like. SOLUTION: In this cable, plural semiconducting water-absorbing tapes 26, 27 each formed with a water-absorbing layer 26b, 27b on one side are wound between an insulating core 10 and a lead sheath 28, such that the water- absorbing layers 26b, 27b are at least partially face opposite each other. Thereby, a gap caused by expansion of an inner diameter of the lead sheath 28 occurs between the oppositely facing water-absorbing layers 26b, 27b. Accordingly, even if water penetrates into the lead sheath 28, the semiconductive water- absorbing tapes 26, 27 perfectly bring out a water-absorbing and swelling function to prevent intrusion of the penetrated water in the longitudinal direction. |
