PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a soundproof cover which prevents penetration of water into a felt member and improves the soundproofing performance of the soundproof cover by a method wherein the lower end of the part of the felt member of the soundproof cover is made higher than a base frame and a soundproofing space can be formed between the soundproof cover and a compressor. SOLUTION: A soundproof cover 4 of a compressor 1 for an air conditioner is constituted of a laminated material of an outer-layer-side waterproof sheet member 4b and an inner-layer-side sound-absorbing felt member 4a. In a skirt part 40 corresponding to the lower end side of the compressor 1, the lower end of the outer-layer-side waterproof sheet member 4b is provided vertically to the position where it comes into contact with the top 2a of a base frame 2, while the lower end of the inner-layer-side sound-absorbing felt member 4a is provided vertically to the position where it is higher by a prescribed dimension L2 than the top 2a of the base frame 2.
