PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress dimerization and to stabilize aldehyde pyridines by adding a phenothiazine in the above mentioned aldehyde pyridine. SOLUTION: The aldehyde pyridines are stabilized by adding (B) a phenothiazine of the formula (R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl, an aralkyl) (e.g. phenothiazine, 3-isopropylphenothiazine, 3-butylphenothiazine, 3- hexylphenothiazine, 3,7-dihexylphenothiazine, 3-nonylphenothiazine or the like) to (A) an aldehyde pyridines (e.g. 2-aldehyde pyridine, 3-methyl-4-aldehyde pyridine, 2,4-dialdehyde pyridine, 2,6-dialdehyde pyridine or the like). The quantity consumed of ingredient B is preferably 0.01-5.0 wt.% based on the ingredient A.
