PURPOSE: A method for internet connection using a cable modem on an internet television is provided to utilize empty channels of CATV as specific internet sites by using a cable modem within a converter for receiving CATV broadcasting. CONSTITUTION: A method for internet connection using a cable modem on an internet television comprises the steps of: utilizing a cable modem installed within a converter for receiving CATV broadcasting for being connected to specific internet sites; designating empty channels of CATV broadcasting channels as specific internet sites; turning on the cable modem; determining whether the CATV channel is changed to the designated specific internet channel, or not; determining whether the changed CATV channel is the designated internet channel, or not; and connecting the cable modem to the specific internet site if the changed CATV channel is the designated internet channel.
