REFRACTORY COMPOSITION FOR COREX MELTING FURNACE NOZZLE

PURPOSE: A refractory composition being used in the oxygen supply nozzle for a COREX melting furnace is provided which has improved heat-impact resistance and permeation resistance to the melt slag to extend the lifespan of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION: In the oxygen supply nozzle for a COREX melting furnace, the refractory composition is used for a hollow ceramic member which is fitted at the inner cylindrical surface of groove parts formed in the center head of a nozzle inlet. This composition comprises 40-60 wt% of MgO; 15-45 wt% of Cr2O3; and 40 wt% or less of Al2O3.
