PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install an elevator later in an existing general medium-rise multiple dwelling house where no elevator is installed. SOLUTION: This elevator is formed so that a car shaft 3 and a machine house 4 are formed by stacking on a base B a lowermost layer block 11 in which a plurality of communicating holes of which plane view is formed approximately in a U shape and which are made in vertical direction are formed, mid-layer blocks 12, and an uppermost layer block 13. An adhesive agent is coated between the blocks 11, 12, and 13, a high tension core 20 like a PC steel bar is inserted into the communicating holes, and mortar is filled into them. The lower end part of the high tension core 20 is buried in the base B, and at least the top part of it is pulled by the upper end surface part of the uppermost layer block 13. Thus the blocks 11, 12, and 13 are tightened to each other so as to form the integrally with each other with the adhesive agent.
