PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous manufacturing method for 3,3',4,4'-tetramethyl-4''-phenyltriphenylamine without using heavy metals such as copper or the like, low in environmental load and in a simple operation. SOLUTION: This 3,3',4,4'-tetramethyl-4''-phenyltriphenylamine is obtained by reacting 3,4-dimethylaniline with 4-phenylcyclohexanone in the presence of a hydrogen transfer catalyst, for example palladium or the like, to produce 3,4-dimethyl-4'-phenyldiphenylamine, and further reacting the resultant 3,4- dimethy1-4'-phenyldiphenylamine with 3,4-dimethylcyclohexanone. |
