PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and easily carry out printing of a quality intended by a user without fail even when there are too many kinds and sizes of media for printing to distinguish by applying absolute information such as the kinds and sizes of the media for printing or the like to the media itself. SOLUTION: An information mark 7 including absolute information such as a type of a recording paper 1 or the like in a margin area 6 outside a central printing range 5 is printed beforehand to a rear face 3 of the recording paper 1. The information mark 7 is constituted of a plurality of dots 9 arranged via a space and consists of bit information to be read by optically detecting the arrangement of the dots 9 and converting the arrangement to an electric signal. The type of the recording paper set to a paper feed part of a recording apparatus, or the like is detected at the side of the recording apparatus before starting printing, so that it can be promptly judged whether or not the detected recording paper 1 is correct as a type of the recording paper for developing printing data set to carry out printing of a quality intended by a user. |
