PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disassembling method and a disassembling tool for positively cutting down a fastening member fastened to a base material at an accurate position into its barrel and flange parts without damaging and deforming the base material. SOLUTION: After a mandrel 12 remaining in the barrel part 11b of a blind rivet 10 fastened to a base material 1 and 2 is removed out by a knocking pin 300, a jig pin 108 is inserted into through hole 11a of the blind rivet 10, and holding the tip end part of the jig pin 108 projected out of the flange part with a jig pin holding member 107 in order to removably support the barrel part 11b by the removably supporting part 108b of the jig pin 108. Under this condition, a piston 104 is advanced/retreated via a compressor 200 for imparting cutting force to a cutting blade 102. This constitution thereby allows the cutting blade 102 to bite in while being laid along the boundary area at the barrel part in the axial direction between the barrel part 11b and the flange part 11c so that the barrel part 11b is cut off form the flange part 11c so as to enable the base material 1 and 2 and the blind rivet 10 to be in a separable condition.
