PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or remarkably reduce the transmission of the structure- borne noise between a silent chain and a pair of conical pulleys to a peripheral environment by arranging a noise attenuation device in at least one area of supporting areas of the conical pulleys. SOLUTION: An annular body 24 of U-shaped section of a noise attenuation device 23 which is arranged on a shaft 3 in an area of a support area of conical pulleys 5 and provided with an attenuation insertion body 25 is provided with an inwardly folded additional part 27 respectively in an end part area of its leg part 26, and surrounds the attenuation insertion body 25 and fixes it on its upper surface. The attenuation insertion body 25 is arranged in a passage-like reception chamber 28 of the annular body 24 arranged on the shaft 3 through the fitting to allow the shift motion in the direction of the shaft 3. A gap space 29 to be formed between the additional part 27 and the conical pulley 5 shiftable in the direction of the shift 3 prevent the direct metallic contact between a support surface 30 of the conical pulley 5 and the annular body 24, and is useful in attaching the conical pulleys 5 to the annular body 24 only through the attenuation insertion body 25. |
