PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly classify recyclable raw bottles and various glass bottles automatically by colors, without enlarging an apparatus as a whole, by an easy treatment flow, in high purity, and in a high recovery percentage. SOLUTION: Waste bottles are supplied to a discrimination apparatus 9 one by one by a conveyer 8, and the whole bottles are photographed with a CCD camera 16 from the side. Raw bottles are selected by the shapes from the photographed images and sorted according to their kinds. When bottles are not raw, if both shapes and colors of the bottles are stored in a memory part, their colors corresponding to the stored data are specified as selective divisions, and if both shapes and colors are not stored, their colors are specified as selective divisions.
