PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the temporary holding device of an elevator landing unit, which is capable of performing temporary holding without needing any anchor bolts and without placing a load more than necessary, and expanding the range of an applicable opening dimension. SOLUTION: A temporary holding device is composed of an upper temporary holding part 1 provided with wall abutting members 1a respectively abutted on landing side wall surfaces 3c positioned in both left and right sides of an opening 3a, a connecting member 1c connected for both ends to these wall abutting members 1a and extended to cross the opening 3a, and a drawing member 1d provided between the connecting member 1c and the middle part of the longitudinal direction of a reinforcing material 4e, and a lower temporary holding part 2 having a roughly Z-shaped structure. Thus, a reaction force is obtained from the wall abutting members 1a via the connecting member 1c to draw the reinforcing material 4e to a landing floor 3e side by the drawing member 1d, a building wall 3 is held between the reinforcing material 4e and the wall abutting members 1a, and a landing unit 4 is temporarily held by pressing a pocket 4a to the side face of a hoistway 3b above the opening 3a.
