PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the start environment of a process as to the information processing unit and distributed processing system which perform specific processes under process control. SOLUTION: This processing unit and system are equipped with a child process generating means which generates a child process at a request given as a system call or message, a process control means which starts the generated child process by following a procedure for process control, a storage means, start possible/impossible decision means 14 and 22 which decide whether or not an identifier indicating both or one of the child process and a parent process is stored in the storage means when a request for regeneration of the child process is given, a regenerating means which generates a corresponding child process when the decision result indicates falsehood, and a ready-made process recording means which registers an identifier indicating one of the child process and parent process or their combination in the storage means when some child process is generated or started.
