PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of troubles on other parts of an air conditioner and to immediately notify a user of the abnormality of a fan motor, if a lock protection control is performed in a brushless motor for driving an air blowing fan of the air conditioner. SOLUTION: A lock protection control means 12a receives sensor signals for calculating the rotational speed of a motor. Based on the speed and revolutions-indicating signal from a device 9 for controlling air-conditioning, a lock state is decided, and instructions for stopping the motor is given. A drive current control means 2b receives sensor signals and revolutions-indicating signals to control the revolutions. If the drive current control means 2b receives the instruction for stopping the motor, it also controls MOSFETs Q1 to Q6 to a state of high impedance. An abnormality-notifying circuit 4 outputs a FAULT signal (motor abnormality signal), while an instruction to stop the motor is outputted. Upon receiving this signal, the device 9 performs processing for avoiding troubles caused by the stoppage of a fan motor on other parts of an air conditioner.
