UNIVERSAL ROLLING MILL

A universal rolling mill so designed that even in the type in which the yoke is upwardly retracted, a batch change of rolls including variable-width rolls can be easily made. The universal rolling mill using as horizontal rolls a pair of variable-width rolls having a driving section (housed in a support box) for rolling-width change removably connected to the roll shaft end on the operating side, wherein the yoke for supporting the reaction from an upright roll on the operating side has mounted thereon a transfer device capable of transfer, between itself and the rolling mill, of the driving section for the upper variable-width roll.
