PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a urease inhibitor having high safety, a medicine containing the inhibitor as an active ingredient, a food additive and a food composition containing the urease inhibitor and to provide a method capable of measuring urease activity even in the presence of a compound having a phenol structure. SOLUTION: This urease inhibitor contains proanthocyanidin or its salt. This medicine contains the urease inhibitor as an active ingredient. This food additive and this food composition contain the urease inhibitor. This method for measuring urease activity comprises forming ammonia by hydrolyzing urea by urease, reacting the formed ammonia with dansyl chloride to form dansylamide and determining formed dansylamide. |
