PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescence material exerting a high luminous efficiency and durability and an electroluminescence element. SOLUTION: This electroluminescence material comprises a unit (AB) prepared by alternately copolymerizing a hole-transporting monomer and an electron-transporting monomer and a unit (A) prepared by polymerizing a hole- transporting monomer, wherein the molar ratio of the total structural units derived from the hole-transporting monomer and the electron-transporting monomer in unit (AB) to the structural units derived from the hole-transporting monomer in unit (A) is from 50:50 to 95:5. This electroluminescence element has a cathode layer 2, an electroluminescence material layer 3 comprising the electroluminescence material, an electron-transporting luminescent layer 4 and an anode layer 5.
